Established in 1908, Nelson Keane & Hemingway has been a vital part of Dubbo and Western NSW since the early part of the last century. While our solicitors were initially engaged mainly in rural matters, the firm has adapted to the diverse legal requirements of a bustling regional city.

As one of the Region's larger firms, Nelson Keane & Hemingway Lawyers takes great pride in providing the same quality service to all of the clients we represent. Most of our clients deal with our firm exclusively for their legal matters, and as a testament to the service we provide, it is common for multiple generations of the same family to regard Nelson Keane & Hemingway as their Solicitors.

Graham & Ward Solicitors

In 2019, Nelson Keane & Hemingway acquired the Established Wellington Law Firm, Graham & Ward Solicitors. Graham & Ward still operates from the same premises at 16 Swift Street Wellington NSW.


The firm now known as Graham & Ward was originally established as Kelly & Waterford Solicitors in 1916. From then, it was known as Kelly & Boyd Solicitors, Kelly Boyd & Ward, then John P. Ward. In 1981 Don Graham formed a Partnership with John Ward, and the Firm adopted the current name.

Andrew Butcherine


Andrew is the Firm's Senior Practitioner. Andrew has a background in the Building & Construction Industry, and brings a wealth of practical experience to his role.


The work conducted by Andrew is predominately of a Commercial Nature. He has particular expertise representing individuals, and groups of landowners in relation to;


  • Carbon Farming Agreements
  • Renewalable Energy including Windfarm Agreements & Solar Agreements
  • Negotiating Access with Mining rights


Brogan Walsh


Brogan commenced work with Nelson Keane & Hemingway in 2010, after completing a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws. Brogan is able to assist with a variety of matters including;

> Rural, Residential and Commercial property matters;

> Succession Planning, Wills and Estates;

> Purchase and Sale of Business;

> Leasing;

> Commercial Law including advising on Partnerships, Companies and Trusts.

Brogan grew up in Narromine, and returned to the area after moving away for School and University. Outside of work, Brogan is kept busy with a young family, has an interest in Farming and follows Rugby Union.

Jessie Marlin


Jessie was raised in Dubbo and commenced her career in law as a paralegal in Sydney while studying a Bachelor of Commerce/ Bachelor of Law at the University of Wollongong. Jessie was admitted as a Solicitor in 2015 and joined Nelson Keane and Hemingway as a practitioner that same year.


Jessie practices primarily in the areas of wills and estate planning, estate disputes, power of attorney and enduring guardianship documents, rural and residential property transactions, succession planning, business and commercial law, purchase and sale of business and all aspects of conveyancing.

Georgia’s experience enables her to advise on various legal matters concerning how the law may interact and ultimately impact her clients.
She spends her spare time helping on her family’s remote property, which has developed her understanding of the challenges and rewards of living and working regionally. Georgia also enjoys cooking for her family and friends and tending to her lavender hedge and hydrangeas.

Georgia Connelly


Georgia commenced working with NKH in 2017. Georgia graduated with a Bachelor Agriculture/Bachelor Laws before completing a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. In 2016 Georgia was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and commenced practising in commercial litigation. 


Since commencing work with NKH, Georgia has gained experience in many areas of law including:


  • Succession planning, Wills and Estates
  • Property law and conveyancing
  • Supreme Court, Local Court and Land and Environment Court matters including Family Provision claims, debt recovery and judicial review
  • Amicable family law property settlements (by consent)


Georgia’s background means she is able to advise on various matters and how various areas of law may interact and ultimately impact her clients.

Aaron Ryan


Aaron joined the firm after becoming admitted as a Solicitor in 2021. Aaron completed his Law Degree whilst gaining plenty of real world experience working in an unrelated industry. Aaron was born and bred in Bathurst, and has recently made the move further west to join the firm. Aaron deals primarily with Litigation matters.

Kristy Naden


Kristy initially commenced work with the Firm as Paralegal whilst completing her Law Degree. Prior to her admission as a Solicitor, Kristy was able to gain valuable experience with the Firm working on a variety of matters including Commercial Leasing, Civil Litigation and Family Law. Kristy was admitted in 2025.
